Born from a borrowed horse and a homemade cape, the Masked Rider Program has grown into Texas Tech's most treasured tradition. At the heart of this legacy is the horse that commands attention and inspires pride in Red Raiders everywhere. When Fearless Champion retired, the question of who would carry on his legacy was answered after a nationwide search. The horse selected was given the name Centennial Champion in honor of Texas Tech's 100th year as an institution. He became the 15th horse in the illustrious history of the Masked Rider Program. This beloved new ambassador, already capturing hearts across Raiderland, is celebrated in the 29th Official Texas Tech Ornament.
